Derek Martin
Investment Advisor Representative CFP®, ChFC®, CLU®, RICP®, CLTC®, MBA
Derek is a proud Michigan native who grew up working on his family's farm, raising cattle and cultivating grain, fruits, and vegetables. Seeking new experiences beyond farm life, he earned dual Bachelor's degrees in Finance & Economics and Health Sciences from Kalamazoo College, followed by an MBA with a specialization in Corporate Finance from Walden University.
Derek began his career by supporting small, blue-collar business owners in managing and improving their financial health. Driven by a deep desire to serve his country, he went on to earn the title of U.S. Marine and served five years on active duty as a Marine Corps officer.
Today, Derek continues to live with purpose. He serves on the board of the Penrose-St. Francis Health Foundation, is actively involved in his church community, and supports a variety of charitable organizations through both time and donations. He finds fulfillment in educating others about personal finance and financial literacy.
He lives in Colorado with his wife and their two beloved cats. A lifelong member of the NRA and an avid outdoorsman, Derek enjoys everything the Rocky Mountains have to offer.
Erin Watkins
Investment Advisor Representative, COO, MBA
Born and raised in Georgia, Erin is a true Southern belle with over 13 years of experience in the finance industry. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance, with an emphasis in Risk Management and Insurance, from Georgia Southern University, and an MBA from Colorado State University-go Rams!
At 56 Capital Partners, Erin brings not only deep financial expertise but also a personal touch. She's passionate about building lasting relationships with her clients, and it shows-don't be surprised when she remembers your kids' names or asks for photos from your latest adventures.
Outside of work, Erin stays busy with a wide range of hobbies, including skiing, climbing, photography, and, most importantly, spending quality time with her family.
Mary Jones
Originally from Los Angeles, California, Mary began performing in theatre productions at just two years old. Her journey eventually took her to Minnesota for college, where she met her husband and embraced the Army lifestyle. After living in several states, the Army brought them to Colorado-where they've now made their permanent home.
Mary is a proud graduate of the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS), holding a B.A. in Sociology. She often jokes that with her background in both sociology and performing arts, she can explain society through song and dance.
Outside of work, Mary loves spending time with her husband, their four children, and their beloved Newfoundland dog. She's passionate about cycling, cooking, and cheering on the Colorado Avalanche-you'll often find her proudly wearing the team's colors. Mary is deeply committed to people, personal growth, and her journey of faith.
